Detailed tasting notes : It is traditional in Okinawa to age awamori, and Yonaguni Kusu is the three-year-old version of Sakimoto Shuzo's range. The rustic character and powerful aroma are clearly present, but the ageing in stainless steel barrels adds roundness and a beautiful homogeneity to the final product. The nose, marked by fruit and spices, is similar to the unaged version. On the palate, the citrus notes evolve into silky sensations of ripe fruit, apple and pear, and earthy notes of undergrowth and mushrooms. A well-balanced distillate, combining strength and smoothness.

Serving suggestions : Rich and round on the palate, Kusu is very pleasant despite its 30° alcohol content. It is a perfect accompaniment to rich dishes, game or mushrooms, a cuisine with autumnal flavours. It can also be enjoyed on its own or on the rocks, with a little water if required. Typical, it is also very interesting in cocktails.
