Detailed tasting notes : Produced by the Kitaoka Honten distillery in Nara, Kirakira liqueur is based on a long tradition of cherry tree cultivation as an ornamental flower, but also as a base for culinary preparations. The flowers used in the preparation of Sakura Kirakira come from Yoshino mountain, immensely famous in Japan for its cherry trees. The flowers are infused, and the result is a drink of incredible delicacy. Light notes of flowers, leaves and herbs enliven the tasting experience, against a smooth, delicate background.
Tasting notes : Delicate notes of cherry blossom, rose, fruit (strawberry, cherry, pineapple) and more herbaceous notes of damp stems and leaves. Kirakira is best enjoyed on its own, over ice or diluted with soda. It is also an interesting ingredient in gin cocktails.
